School-Based Health Center

The flu vaccine is still available at the SBHC. Any scholar that gets the vaccine at the SBHC will be entered in a raffle. Two Fit Bits will be raffled off before December break.

The latest flu activity map, published by CDC , shows that flu activity is minimal throughout the United States, which means there is still time for individuals to get the vaccination before the virus spreads to our community. Since the vaccination takes some time before it becomes effective, individuals are encouraged to get their vaccination sooner rather than later.

Also, thus far, early surveillance data shows that circulating viruses in the U.S. collected to date are a very close match to the current 2017-2018 influenza vaccine formulation. This is very welcome news since getting immunized with this seasons’ flu vaccines should prove to be a very effective method for protection against these flu viruses.

Please contact the SBHC at 860-310-2864 if your scholar has any medical, dental or mental health needs. We will start running health education groups for scholars with any educational needs next week. Please call if you would like your scholar involved in a individual/group class  (i.e., nutrition, hygiene, self-confidence, tobacco/alcohol cessation, etc.) . Healthy scholars make better learners!

School Uniforms

Land’s End is the official supplier of CTRA’s school uniforms. The CT Shirt Man is no longer an official supplier, and items purchased from the CT Shirt Man may not meet CTRA’s dress code requirement. Be on the lookout for sales from Land’s End.
